BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Karnataka is the youth wing of the BJP, a national party in India. The party has different wings supplementing the main party. Yuva Morcha's responsibility is to motivate young people to be ACTIVE in politics. The party is based on the philosophy of Integral humanism (India). BJYM is currently headed by Shri. P Muniraju Gowda, who took over as president from Sunil Kumar Karkala in September 2013.

AbOUT State President

Muniraju Gowda was born on 3 October 1978. Muniraju was inspired to think with a nationalistic view when he read Chandrashekhar Azad's biography Ajeya. He joined RSS and developed a greater love for his nation. While in college, he joined NCC and was a gold medalist in shooting. He liked to help the youth, and always thought about the youth's need in active policy, which is the reason why he joined BJP. He has risen up the ladder and he currently is the BJP Yuva Morcha State President.

Activities

Yuva Morcha has been active in various activities across the state.

Building Gorata Martyrs memorial

During Hyderabad's accession to India, around 200 people were killed by Razakars in the tiny village of Gorta in the Bidar district. BJYM Karnataka is building a memorial in remembrance of those who lost their lives.

Protest against [...] incidents in Karnataka

In Karnataka, lots of [...] incidents were reported. BJP Yuva Morcha instigated statewide agitation insisting on security for women

Padayatra demanding water in suburban districts of Bengaluru

Bengaluru rural, Chikkaballapura and Kolar are adjoining districts of the city of Bengaluru. These are developing districts which are projected to house premier commercial areas in the future. Unfortunately the area suffers from an acute water shortage. BJP Yuva Morcha held a walkathon from Chikkaballapur to Bengaluru demanding a permanent water solution for these areas. The walkathon gained high popularity and farmers voluntarily joined it, making a crowd of around 6000 people. Unable to withstand the fact of people participation in large numbers the state government sabotaged the yatra by detaining the leaders leading the yatra.

Yuva Chaitanya Yatre

Yuva Chaitanya Yatra, a campaign focused on clean living, was carried out with three goals:

  • Swachcha Bharat (Clean India campaign, called upon by Shiri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India)
  • Narcotics Free Karnataka
  • Spreading the message of Swami Vivekananda amongst youth

The yatra travelled across 14 districts covering 1153 kilometers in 7 days.
