Bill Nussey
Bill Nussey is the President and CEO of Silverpop, a digital marketing technology provider that offers email marketing and marketing automation solutions.
Education & Career
Nussey received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He has 30 years of experience running technology and Internet companies.
Nussey started his first company in high school, creating and selling software that provided enhanced graphics for early text-based computers. In college, he and several co-founders started Da Vinci Systems, which became one of the most widely used desktop email tools in the world, with more than 3 million users in 45 countries. Da Vinci Systems was later sold to publicly traded ON Technology in 1994.
Nussey joined Greylock, one of the oldest venture capital firms in the country, in 1996. Nussey joined iXL Inc., a publicly traded e-business consulting firm, in 1998, where he served as President and, later, CEO.
In 2000, iXL had over 2,800 employees and Nussey was named the most influential consultant in the world by Consulting Magazine.
Silverpop
Since joining the company as President and CEO in 2000, Nussey has overseen the acquisition of leading marketing technology companies such as Vtrenz, PlacePunch and CoreMotives. Silverpop has 450 employees and 1,600 customers representing more than 5,000 brands around the world.

Nussey is the author of several publications, including The Quiet Revolution in Email Marketing.
He has been the Recipient of the Direct Marketing Association's Marketing Technology and Internet Council Annual Award of Excellence and was listed among The 50 Most Influential People in Sales Lead Management by the Sales Lead Management Association in 2010 and 2011. Atlanta’s Business to Business Magazine named him among the city’s top 25 entrepreneurs.
