Biggo
BigGo is a product search engine and price-comparison platform headquartered in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Founded in August 2016 and operated by its parent company, Funmula Co., Ltd. (Funmula Corp Limited), BigGo aggregates product listings and pricing data from major e-commerce platforms to provide consumers with swift price comparisons, historical price tracking, and cashback rewards.
The company is considered the largest price comparison and cash-back platform in Taiwan and has expanded its operations into Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand and Singapore, as well as Japan. The company is backed by various venture capital firms, notably the Silicon Valley-based SOSV.
History
BigGo was established in August 2016 by Kevin Yen and Louis Liu with the goal of providing a comprehensive e-commerce search engine that did not obscure default price sorting behind sponsored or promotional algorithms.
In November 2019, Funmula Co., Ltd. raised US$5 million in a Series A funding round. This investment was led by SOSV, Uni-President, and Kyber Capital, which facilitated the company's expansion beyond Taiwan into international markets.
E-commerce search and cashback
BigGo's core product is its price comparison engine, which aggregates data from major regional and global e-commerce platforms, including Shopee, Rakuten, and Momo Shopping. The platform allows users to view price fluctuations over a two-year history to track discounting trends during major shopping festivals. BigGo also operates as a cashback platform, allowing users to earn rewards when purchasing through partner sites.
The company also developed an artificial intelligence image search tool called BIRSE, which allows users to search for identical or visually similar products across e-commerce platforms using image analysis rather than text queries.
BigGo Finance
Funmula Co., Ltd. operates a financial news and market information portal known as BigGo Finance. The portal serves as an aggregator and publisher of real-time financial news, market trends, and STOCK market analyses. Its primary coverage includes:
- Global Tech & Semiconductor News: Detailed reporting on earnings, stock movements, and supply chain analyses of international and regional technology hardware manufacturers.
- Digital Finance: Reporting on global financial technology, including digital currency pilot programs initiated by central banks.
- Market Data: Real-time stock price tracking, earnings previews, and investment insights focused on Asian and global tech markets.
