Bigfoot Networks
Bigfoot Networks, founded in 2004, is a company specializing in the development of various solutions for reducing the lag that computer gamers experience while playing online. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Bigfoot Networks has pioneered the concept of a Network Processing Unit (NPU) for consumers when it introduced its flagship product, the Killer NIC (Network Interface Card), in 2006. At the heart of the Killer NIC is the company's patented chipset, which it calls the Lag and Latency Reduction (LLR) technology. As of 2007, Bigfoot Networks plans to extend this technology beyond its consumer-oriented NPU by offering a similar device, called the Game Server Accelerator, to work on the server side.
