Beyond Vegas
Beyond Vegas are an Australian indie rock band formed in Melbourne in 2011 by singer Neil Miel and guitarist Darin Kes. Their music is defined as adult alternative pop/rock.
History
Neil and Darin met in an obsure guitar band in the early 90's, and after this bands demise they parted ways and didn't meet again until over 20 years later. In 2011 Neil and Darin began writing songs under the name Beyond Vegas and in 2013 released an independent EP titled Sooner or Later. The EP's feature song "Love Me Blind" gained frequent internet radio airplay and was listed number two on Indie Minded's Spotify Hot 100 for 2014. The name Beyond Vegas was chosen as Neil and Darin felt it represented the extreme of any anticipation of success. The band has played many iconic Melbourne music venues such as The Tote Hotel, The Central Club Hotel and The Elephant and Wheelbarrow. They have also performed at The Greyhound Hotel as a part of the St Kilda Festival. The band line-up consists of Neil Miel on lead vocals, Darin Kes on guitar, Rupert Rodrigues on bass guitar, Ben Allen on keyboard and Bud Nordhoorn on drums.
