Beloved (trio)

Beloved are an American Contemporary Christian group.

Biography

Beloved was formed when former Miss Georgia Kim Hardee was ask to be a guest singer at Roswell Street Baptist church in Marietta GA. She attended the churches Sunday school and met Amy Goins. Amy was also in the church choir that was accompaning Kim during her perform. They quickly developed a friendship and started writing songs together.

The early songs were used on Kim's solo project "Heavenly Intuition". Amy started to sing backup during Kim's performances around the South. A couple of months into it Kim ask Amy if she knew a really good alto. Denise Clark came to mind since Amy had sung with Denise at Roswell Street for years. The three got together and it just clicked. Kim and Amy moved to Memphis and then to Nashville before moving back to Atlanta. That move back in 2003 was the catalist for the formation of the group from Kim the solo artist to Beloved the group.

In the later part of 2003 the group recorded their first project with Nashville at Direct Imaging Studios. The songs were cut in a day and vocals throughout the next couple of months. In 2004 the self titled release "Beloved" was ready for release. The first single from the group was the fan favorite "A Child Of The King". The group released their first song in the division of gospel music entitled Southern Gospel. The industry took to the girls right away. "A Child Of The King" became the biggest single in over 2 decades by a female group. The subsequent singles made steady ProgresS up the charts. The third single "Sometimes" gave the group their first top 40 hit. After selling the album at performances exclusively the group inked a deal with New Day Distrubtuion in the summer of 2004 to deliver the music to independent music stores across the country. The girls continued to sing across the South and geared themselves for the next record.

In 2005 the girls started work again with Direct Imaging in Nashville for the second release Lovely Day. The recording was an ecletic mix for Southern Gospel and Contemporary. Beloved certainly does not follow trends and CREATES their own unique music. This was never more evident than on "Lovely Day". The album was released in March 2006 to critical acclaim. On of the highlights of the album is "Heritage" features a guest performance from Legendary Gospel singer Eva Mae LeFever. With significant radio play this became Beloved biggest hit on radio to date. In addition to the albums, Beloved threw their own Ladies event which started in February 2006. This annual event regularly sells out and has ladies from seven different states coming to enjoy the fun and fellowship.
