Tips and Tricks

Traktor DJ Studio 3

  • Behringer has published a step-by-step guide to set-up Traktor DJ Studio 3 for use with the BCD3000. This includes the guide in PDF and required TKS file.
  • Also disable "Reset Deck Controls when Loading Track" and "Reset Mixer Controls when Loading Track" in Traktor's Preferences (located at Deck Preferences/Loading). This will keep the knobs on the BCD3000 and the on screen Traktor interface synchronized when loading a new track.
  • The BCD3000 only has 3 EQ knobs, thus change the EQ to Classic (Traktor's default is Xone:92).

Overall performance

  • While using the BCD3000, strive to dedicate the system to the task at hand; mixing.
  • Close all programs that are not required. This includes security software (virus scanner, firewall) which are often a burden to the computer.
  • Avid Windows users might use additional tools such as msconfig and services.msc to further optimize their system. For more information on Windows services visit the Guide to Useless Services. For more information on using msconfig, see How to use MSCONFIG.

Stability issues

  • Various users have successfully solved skipping problems by disabling the wireless network card and other PCMCIA devices on the computer.
  • It appears the BCD3000 is very sensitive to power fluctuations. Try connecting it to an electrical outlet with no or little other devices.

Other problems

  • Some units will have one or both jog wheels not running smoothly. This video shows instructions for a DIY fix.
