Bayshore networks

Bayshore Networks is a privately held information assurance and security technology company, founded in New York, NY in 2002 by CEO Francis Cianfrocca. The Company is majority-owned by its founders and employees, with minority investment from Senior Partners at a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund. Company officers are COO Bob Lam, Engineering VP Andres Andreu, Sales VP Paul McGowan, and are supported by advisors Dr. Arthur Laffer and Lou Steinberg. The company produces high-end, multi-protocol, behavior-based Layer 7 information assurance application firewalls which secure both internet-facing applications and intranet enterprise applications behind the DMZ, as well as blocking insider attacks/Apts.

Cianfrocca is a noted expert in the fields of computer-language design, compiler implementation, network communications, and large-scale distributed application architectures, and is a very strong advocate of open-source software development having created several widely-used open projects, including the Ruby Net/LDAP library, and the Ruby EventMachine high-speed network-event management system.

Products and Technology

Bayshore Networks' primary industry focus is in government, military/defense, commercial enterprise, and ICS/critical infrastructure. Products are deployed in the network core infrastructure, exercising fine-grained security policy enforcement developed through heuristic behavioral analysis and application base-lining. The technology utilizes a "pervasive network presence" deployment model ("secure network fabric") which performs full-stream analysis on all links within a complex application structure, including the links to secondary application tiers (a critical element in defending against advanced persistent threats or APTs), and is designed to protect against a variety of known attack types including the OWASP Top Ten risks. The company is included in the OWASP-recognized list of Web Application Firewalls.

Product categories include a multi-layer, multi-protocol information firewall (deployed as either a hard appliance, a soft appliance, or a virtual machine such as a VMware appliance) as well as a multi-ICS protocol SCADA information assurance firewall, and a real-time situational awareness firewall management console.

Security standards compliance

Bayshore Networks products comply with PCI DSS, HIPPA, Basel II & III, GLB, SOX, Dodd/Frank, and others.
