Bart Faulwell

Bart Faulwell is a fictional character in the non-canon Star Trek series Starfleet Corps of Engineers.

Bart Faulwell is a non-commissioned officer, working on the USS Da Vinci as a linguistics and cryptography expert. He served as a cryptographer during the Dominion War, and was one of Starfleet’s best at cracking Dominion Codes (SCE:Interphase Book 2). Faulwell drinks French roast coffee with half-and-half and sugar. He also does not maintain “normal” sleeping hours, preferring to grab naps here and there when the opportunity presents (SCE:Fatal Error)

Faulwell is one of the few homosexual characters in Star Trek. He often writes long letters to his partner, Lieutenant Commander Anthony Mark on Starbase 92, using real ink and paper instead of modern electronic equipment. Despite the letters being long and eloquent, they always begin with "Just a brief note", however, he dictates the letters and sends them by subspace message keeping the paper originals to give Mark when he next sees him.
