Barnstable High School Drama Club
The Barnstable High School Drama Club is responsible for the theater performances at Barnstable High School. It was recently announced that MTV would start filming a reality show focusing on the club next year.
History
The Barnstable High School Dramatic Club was founded in 1957 by a few students. Over the years, the club has expanded to almost 100 members.
High Drama
In 2008, with the 50th anniversary of the club, the decision was made to perform the Wizard of Oz. Warner Brothers then contacted director John Sullivan AbOUT documenting the production of the show from the first day of casting to the closing day. During filming, it was not uncommon to see a member of the Drama Club being followed by a few cameramen. Entertainment Weekly eventually gave the documentary the grade of an A. This year 2008 Stage Directions magazine voted the Barnstable Drama Club one of the five best drama programs in the Nation and the best in the Northeast
