Barbera Caffè S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of coffee products.
History
The company was founded in 1870 by Domenico Barbera, who started roasting coffee with a small handcrafted roasting machine in Southern Italy. Succeeding generations implemented the expansion strategy affirming the brand in the Italian market (In 1951 a Warehouse was founded in Milan).
In 1953 Barbera Coffee Co. created one of the first chemical laboratory of Coffee in Italy, excelling in quality and in the development of new products.
The business is currently administered by the fifth generation of the Barbera family. Its headquarter is in Trentola-Ducenta, near Naples, and it does business worldwide in over 55 countries.
Barbera Coffee Today
The 5th generation of Barbera family has extended its distribution borders attesting its presence in more than 55 countries. Since 2004, the company has operated coffee shops and franchises, on almost all continents.
Coffee
Barbera imports coffee directly from plantation, from highly selected producers located around the world, including Brazil, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Indonesia (Java).
Barbera Coffee Co. toasts slowly and separatly each kind of coffee preferring the air-cooling rather the most common water-cooling to leave intact the quality of each bean.
Curiosity: History of logo
Barbera Coffee Logo was subjected to several transformations but It has never lost the deep meaning It keeps since its creation.
Domenico Barbera, called "The magician of coffee" because of the taste of his blend, has drawn the first version of the logo: a little magician who is carrying a big and smoking cup of coffee. This picture represents afforts of a father for his family.
