Banbah (Bomba) Chief of Muzaffarabad
Banbah (Bomba) بنبه word is derived from Banu Umayya. The first notable person who is known as Banbah was the Sultan Muzaffar Khan who was the founder of Muzaffarabad Azad Kashmir. According to some most authentic Historians, like Molvi Hashmatullah Lahknavi, Almasoodi, Molana Nadvi, Akbar shah khan najeebabadi and many more, when the umayyah's caliphate was demolished and Abbasid's came in rule, they ordered to kill all of Banu Umayyah tribe. At that time Banu Umayyahs spread to various places like Undlus (Spain), Multan, Khurasan, Badakshan, Kashmir and etc. They hide their identity and adopted various nicknames to show their tribe and clan name. In Badakshan they used the name Banbah بنبه . According to Tareekh e Hazara and Tareekh e Aqwam e Kashmir the first person who came to Kashmir was Kashif Khan, who entered in Kashmir at the time of Kamal Khan who was a ruler by the Turks of Pakhli (Pakhli Sarkar). The Kashif Khan settled in kurmang village.
Kamal Khan married his daughter to Kashif Khan. People of kurman like Kashif Khan for his mercy. Kamal Khan was afraid from is popularity and killed him.
Kashif khan's wife had a son Qasim Khan. When Qasim Khan heard about his father's death he killed Kamal Khan.
Sultan Muzaffar Khan was the great grand son of Qasim Khan in the 16th generation. At the time of Shah Jahan the Mughal Emperor Sultan Muzaffar Khan got the power and came in the rule. He established the city of Muzaffarabad by his name.
