Balkan Holidays Ltd, is a British independent tour operator, providing package holidays, flight only and accommodation products to UK customers and is part of the Balkan Holidays Group. Balkan Holidays operate from over 20 UK airports. The majority of the flights operated to Bulgaria are operated by Balkan Holidays’ own charter airline company - Balkan Holidays Airlines . All flights and flight-inclusive holidays are financially protected by the ATOL scheme.
History
Balkan Holidays Ltd was founded in 1966 by the Bulgarian state for the worldwide promotion of tourism in Bulgaria and the Balkan region. In 1999 Balkan Holidays was privatized at a time when the company flew from 10 UK airports and carried 18,000 passengers from the UK to Bulgaria with a revenue of 7 million GBP. In 2001 Balkan Holidays Air was established to support the Balkan Holidays Charter programmes to Bulgaria for both summer and winter holidays. In 2005 Balkan Holidays achieved passenger carryings of over 130,000 with a revenue of 64 million GBP. In 2013 Balkan Holidays Operate from over 20 UK airports.
