History
The firm was established in 2003 under the name Baker Associates by English Barrister and Jersey Advocate Stephen Baker, who was formerly in practice as a Crown Advocate in Jersey’s Law Officers’ Department, working for H.M. Attorney General for Jersey. The practice was established with a focus on complex financial crime and formed part of the BakerPlatt Group, providing legal advice and professional financial services training.
A strategic alliance was created with the chambers of 7BR Barristers Chambers in November 2003. In 2006 the firm was recommended for the in the Legal 500 for its work within its niche practice areas. In 2010, Baker Associates separated from the BakerPlatt Group and rebranded as Baker and Partners.
