Baja Gold Coast

The Baja Gold Coast is one of the most visited places in Mexico. Home to the second most visited city in the world and well known beach cities, the Gold Coast is one of the richest and most developed in Mexico. Just south of California, the Gold Coast consists of all western coastline on the Baja California Peninsula.

Cities

Cosmopolitan Tijuana is known as the most visited border in the world. In this famous city, fun mixes with its dynamism. One of its ICONS is Avenida Revolucion. Tijuana's large tourism sector is also in part attributed to San Diego, a large coastal city also providing tours during the day from Southern California. Tijuana serves as an arts, music, culture, sports, and innovation center.

Coastal, and well known beach city, Rosarito Beach is water sports center on the Gold Coast located 25 minutes from the border. A popular beach resort, the city has many golf, amusement park, ecotourist, and cinema amenities. Rosarito is also home to the third largest cycling race in North America. Coined the Lobster Capital of the World, Rosarito cuisine focuses largely on sea food and shellfish.

Ensenada is the second largest city on the Gold Coast and serves as a wine center of near equality to the wine valleys of the San Francisco Bay Area including the Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley. The city is a popular cruise destination for ships leaving the docks of Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Diego.

Recreation

The area around Bahia de San Quintin serves as a calm alternative to the busy northern coastal resorts. San Quintin is historically a small rural community offering hunting, fishing, sailing, and historical cultural opportunities.

Ecology

The Baja Gold Coast is a very diverse and rich habitat zone.
