Bad Poetry Blues Band

The Bad Poetry Blues Band are a 6-piece blues jam band based in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada. They released a demo recording in 2005 called "Never Looking Back". One track entitled "Everyday (I have the blues)" attained the number 1 position on the Soundclick "Blues" chart. The CD was recorded in Toronto at Windward Music Productions.

The group was formed in 2004 with Mick Manning (lead vocals, harmonica), Peter Thorn (guitar), Tom Barber (lead guitar), Valerie Alyea (bass), and Robert Orrett (drums). In the beginning, their music was influenced by Robert Johnston and Muddy Waters, however the band was still able to create a rough individual sound typified by their solid blues-rock material and raw delivery.

The Bad Poetry Blues Band continues to perform regularily, with changes to their membership. Ken Layton has become the drummer/background vocalist, and Dave Papple has taken over as the primarily lead guitarist and background vocalist, adding his deep vocals, and screaming guitar to their blues driven performances.

The group is also cited for being an important precursor in influencing other MusicAL groups around the area as well.
