Babai Hotel Vijayawada

Babai Hotel is located in Gandhinagar area of Vijayawada city in Andhra Pradesh state, India. The hotel, which was established in 1942 by Patruni Shyama Murthi who later became popular as ‘Babai’ to its patrons, was probably the most popularly visited hotel by bigwigs from the Telugu film industry (the likes of NTR, ANR, Savitri ) and a host of top politicians too.

The hotel has been renovated in October 2007 as a Ground+2 building at the same 130-sq. yard site, and, of course, with the same name that evokes fond memories for senior citizens of the city. The hotel offers a wide array of mouth-watering South-Indian snacks and food items that it has been known for very long. The Special Idli, which costs only INR 14 (as of Feb 2010) for a plate of two, comes with excellent chutneys, podi, ghee and traditional butter.

Many popular restaurants like "Chutneys" in Hyderabad & USA use Babai Hotel's brand name in their menu.
