B Major (producer)

Bjorn Martin (born April 12, 1999), known professionally as B Major, is a South African composer and record producer. His work focuses on Soulful house and other forms of electronic music.

Career

His father, a music teacher and pianist, introduced him to jazz and R&B during his childhood. Martin began learning the piano at the age of ten and later developed an interest in music production. DJ Kent, Kaytranada, Heavy K, Four7 and his late father are his musical influences.

Martin released his debut album, Matters of the Heart, in February 2024. The project included a collaboration with two-time South African Music Awards (SAMAs) nominee D'Low. His single Sunday Morning was nominated at the Cape Town Artist Awards, and Lemonade received a nomination at the 021 Music Awards.

The division provides publishing administration services, Including rights documentation and publishing data management for independent and internationally distributed repertoire.

Martin established Martin Music Publishing in 2024 as the publishing administration arm of Soulistic Recordings CPT, supporting international and local independent repertoire through rights documentation and publishing data management. The company administers music catalogues released through Soulistic Recordings CPT, including all works associated with B Major.

The division operates in an administrative capacity rather than a catalogue acquiring publisher. Its work includes preparing and submitting composition registrations, maintaining writer and publisher share records, and managing publishing metadata used for royalty processing across territories.
