Azhar Saleh Abbasi

Azhar Saleh Abbasi is a retired senior officer of the Pakistan Army. He served as Corps Commander of I Corps Mangla and Chief of Logistics Staff at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Military career

Abbasi was commissioned in the 28 Cavalry through 74 PMA Long Course. He was awarded the coveted Sword of Honour for his all round best performance in the academy.

In 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. As a major general, he commanded 9th Infantry Division at Kohat. He also served as Vice Chief of General Staff, at GHQ.

In April 2017, his rank was elevated to lieutenant general and appointed as Corps Commander of I Corps. He also had the office of Commander Central Command.

Before his retirement, Abbasi was appointed Chief of Logistics Staff at GHQ, overseeing logistics, supply chains, and support services crucial for operational readiness.

Abbasi retired from active military service on 1 April 2021.
