Ayisha Abdul Basith

Ayisha Abdul Basith (born 29 March 2005) is an Indian-born Islamic singer, nasheed artist and digital content creator based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She is widely known for her spiritual songs, nasheeds and multi-lingual devotional covers that have reached a global audience.

Ayisha first gained worldwide attention after her rendition of the naat 'Hasbi Rabbi Jallallah' went viral, later crossing more than 80 million views on YouTube. She is recognised for her modest presentation, multilingual abilities, and her influence in spreading spiritual and peaceful music across diverse audiences.

Early life and education

Ayisha Abdul Basith was born on 29 March 2005 in Talassery, Kerala, India, into a Muslim family. Her parents, Abdul Basith and Tasnim Basith, moved to Abu Dhabi where Ayisha was raised along with her younger brother Ahmed and younger sister Ahlam.

Her mother, a trained singer, played an important role in encouraging Ayisha to sing. Ayisha began singing at the age of three and received Hindustani classical training from the age of six. She later trained in Western vocals under singer Lavita Lobo.

Career

Ayisha's parents created her YouTube channel in 2013, initially posting her recitations and devotional singing. Her cover of ‘Hasbi Rabbi Jallallah‘ in 2016 became a breakthrough success and drew global attention, eventually crossing 80 million views.

Her debut original single, Tasbih, released in 2020, garnered millions of views and was widely used on social media platforms.

Ayisha has performed Islamic devotional songs, nasheeds, Quranic verses, and spiritual compositions in multiple languages, including Arabic, Malayalam, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, Turkish, Persian, Indonesian, Chechen, Korean, and English.

She has been featured on TV and radio stations across the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, the UK and the US, and she frequently collaborates with global artists and nasheed creators.

Collaborations

Collaboration with Salim–Sulaiman (2022)

In 2022, Ayisha collaborated with the renowned Indian composer duo Salim–Sulaiman for the devotional track Salaam — the curtain-raiser song for their album Bhoomi 22. The song was released under Merchant Records.

Salim Merchant stated that Ayisha's voice had “a divine quality” and that her spirituality made her an ideal fit for the song.

The track received coverage from media outlets including Khaleej Times, Times of India, and several entertainment platforms.

Other collaborations

  • Collaboration with Palestinian musician Ziad Sumaira for a Turkish devotional release (2021).
  • Collaboration with Indian musician Mohammed Yaser for an Indonesian spiritual song (2021).
