AutoMKV

AutoMKV running under Windows Vista

AutoMKV is a GPL-licensed GUI to encode MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-4 ASP and Windows Media material. Unlike other next-generation encoding GUIs, which usually aim for high amounts of control over advanced encoding options, AutoMKV aims to be "The Easy way to X264/XviD and WMV." Advanced codec options can be changed through editing or creating XML-based encoding profiles; less technically inclined users can simply select an input video, resolution, and file size, and then choose from a list of included encoding templates. AutoMKV comes with many encoding templates for specific device compatibility (e.g., Zune, iPhone, Xbox 360), or general quality settings (e.g., "Fast," "Extreme Quality," "HD-DVD").
