AuthorIT
AuthorIT is a Content management system and applies to anyone responsible for creating, maintaining, and distributing content. The foundation of AuthorIT resides in its ability to single-source content thereby eliminating redundancy and streamlining content. While AuthorIT is often referred to as a help authoring tool, its Underlying approach to single sourcing can be applied to any industry. AuthorIT can produce documentation in the following formats:
- RTF, PDF, or Microsoft Word format for printed documentation
- Microsoft WinHelp (Windows Help)
- Microsoft HTML Help
- Sun JavaHelp
- Oracle Help for Java
- Web and browser based help
- XML
- DITA
AuthorIT stores all information as objects in a central database, giving authors the ability to combine and reuse objects in various ways. Object types include:
- books
- topics
- file objects
- hyperlinks
- styles
- glossaries
- tables of contents
- indexes
Because content consists of independent objects, multiple authors can work in the central database (called a library) at the same time.
AuthorIT can be licenced as Either Desktop, Workgroup, or Enterprise editions. Further modules that can be licenced include:
- Offline Authoring
- Project Manager
- Localisation Manager
- MIF Import Filter

- Web based Editor
