Augusto S. Mallié

Augusto S. Mallié (1872-1929) was an Argentine historian and archivist. He served as director of the Archivo General de la Nación Argentina.

Biography

Mallié was born in Avellaneda (Buenos Aires Province), son of Augusto Emilio Mallié, born in France and Julia Rouquaud Périchon, daughter of a well-known family of French origin.

Mallié began his career as clerk of the General Archive of the Nation Argentina. And retired after working for thirty-seven years at the institution. He had a preponderant role as Director of the Archive General, performing the complete transcription of Acuerdos del extinguido Cabildo de Buenos Aires. a work of high historical value for the Argentine Republic.

Augusto S. Mallié was the maternal grandson of Ernesto Rouquaud, a pioneer in the exploration and colonization of Patagonia.
