Attila Konnyu

Attila Konnyu is a film producer, director, writer and artist, lives and works in Palm Beach, Florida.

Early life

Attila Konnyu was born in Budapest, Hungary, where he studied architecture at Ybl Miklos University. He worked with Hungarian Television (MTV) as executive producer and MAFILM Budapest as artistic director. His early fascination with the art of Abstract Expressionists brought him to the art studio of Miklos Kolozsvari Grandpierre,

Art

Konnyu has traveled all over the world, he visited the continent of Australia and many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North and South America and in the Pacific Islands.

He lived in the magnificent Mediterranean countries (Italy and Spain) for three years. Konnyu met personally with The Two genius abstract expressionist artists, in Tuscany with Karel Appel, (CoBrA group) and in island of Ibiza with Emil Schumacher. He held these artists in high regard, they influenced his work greatly. Upon his meeting with the Tachisme (derived from the French word tache, stain) Konnyu departed on his journey of new gestural painting with a sometime calligraphic aspect as a way of his self-expression.

“Create your paintings with strong, wild gestures and do it with a pure heart! If you please, shout with the power of wild colors, but create your paintings with the honesty of the sleeping child in you!” These were the words of Karel Appel to Konnyu at the end of 1990's in Europe. Konnyu’s work has been exhibited worldwide. His paintings, and sculptures have been the subject of numerous exhibitions. His first solo painting exhibition took place at Roca Llisa in Ibiza, Spain in June 2002.

He moved to the United States in 2013, lives and works in Palm Beach, Florida. Attila Konnyu is represented by the The mAe Gallery. in Delray Beach, Florida.

Film and Entertainment

Konnyu's American experiences and inspirations reinvigorated his grand love for movie-making, and with his American partners, he started to work again in 2016 in the field of the modern movie and entertainment art business. Attila Konnyu is working as a producer, director and writer, uses innovative processes, which incorporates the concepts of complex artistic expressions, like the music compositions, visual computing technology and special ballet, a "new dance" form. These productions will soon be released in the greatest concert halls around the world and in the movie, television and advertising film markets.
