Atri (clan)

Atri (Hindi: अत्रि) is a clan or gotra of Jats found in Uttar Pradesh in India.

Atris claim descent from Rishi Atri, the son of Brahma in Hindu mythology. Presently Atri Jats inhabit village Khadeha in Uttar Pradesh. At times they are also known as Khaderia. Atri Jats migrated from this village and founded 60 villages in Aligarh district.

Although atri's are found from some particular village . They also inhabit many villages in newly found Gautambuddha nagar and Bulandshahar . After getting better education atri people have migrated to differnt parts of the india and whole world . Meerut and New Delhi are the two most noticable cities where atri are in large number .
