Atlantic Promotions
Atlantic Promotions (Les Promotions Atlantiques in French) is a Canadian direct response company created in Longueuil, Québec around 1965 by Jacques Gatien. The popular brand marketed by the company is Starfrit.
Overview
In the early 60's, Mr. Jacques Gatien decided to visit trade fairs and exhibitions in Québec in order to praise the merits of new kitchen gadgets. Gatien then established Atlantic Promotions in 1965. Following its conclusive and modest beginnings, the demonstrations are done to a bigger audience via TV commercials. Since then, the TV commercials are broadcasted across Canada. The company not only distributed products from other companies, but it also manufactures its own products under brands such as Starfrit, Oskar (now owned by Freudenberg) and Vitagro. Atlantic Promotions also operates offices in Toronto and Vancouver.
As a record distributor
In the 70s, Atlantic Promotions established a record company called «Promo-Son». All records released by «Promo-Son» were distributed by Atlantic Promotions starting the label's debut in 1973. Atlantic Promotions promptly closed the label in 1980.
