Atlan (singer)

Atlan born on 13 June 1968 in Paris, is a French singer-songwriter and producer.

Biography

In 1986, Atlan made a rock band called The Romance with his best friend Pascal Laigle. In 1987, he featured in music video Si tu veux le savoir with French singer Marc Lavoine. He played drums in his band and produced in 1988 its last show at Gibus in Paris then started a solo career as singer. He met same year Jacky Hanouna, another French songwriter and musician who produced all arrangements for his songs. In 2001, he produced with father support his first single Incorrigible. as Christophe del Rio sold in all FNAC stores in France. In 2004, he produced his first album Au bout de la route as Atlan including duet with French TV entertainer Jerome Anthony with his song Tout l'monde s'en fout. In May 2005, Atlan sang in direct tribute from his album to Nancy called Place Stanislas on France 3 Lorraine-Champagne-Ardenne TV channel with French deputy Laurent Hénart for celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Place Stanislas in Nancy. Unfortunately he had to cancel his show in Paris at La Cigale in October 2005. In 2006, Atlan signed Au bout de la route with RMD company then produced two music videos with French filmmaker Philippe Viladécas for his songs Paparazzi and On n'a qu'une mère. He finally played private show in Paris at Sentier des Halles in November 2005. In 2007, Paparazzi is published with Imaginez, an American book for students learning French from Vista Higher Learning, a Boston publishing company working with schools, colleges and universities from United States and Canada. In 2008, he met in London British songwriter Nick Ingman for producing an English album. Nick Ingman worked with international artists as Madonna, George Michael, Cliff Richard or Diana Ross but Atlan decided to record it later. In 2009, he produced dancefloor mix for Paparazzi with French DJ Maxime Desprez collaborating with French celebrities Pascal Obispo and David Guetta. In 2010, he signed second album called 7.. Atlan had music break during 2011 then started writing his first short film and book about his children. A third and English album from Atlan should come out in December 2012 called Love is everything. Atlan recorded with French guitarists Patrice Tison, Basile Leroux and Sébastien Chouard, French bassist Laurent Vernerey, French drummers Christophe Deschamps, [ [Loic Pontieux]] and Laurent Faucheux, and French music arranger John Mora. Musicians from his band are Sylvain Joasson for drums, Frank Terranova for bass, Jean-Christophe Bultheel and Stephane Terranova for guitars.

Private life

Atlan father is architect and his mother is journalist and bookwriter.

Atlan studied law at Université de Paris-X and filmmaker at ESRA in Paris.

Atlan is divorced but was married in 1991 with Nathalie. He has four children: Emilie (1992), Matilda (1993), Julia (2000) and Neo (2006). He has a brother Cédric.

Charity actions

In February 2005, Atlan produced two shows for 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami victims in Nancy at Poirel and in Metz at l Arsenal with RFM radio and France 3 Lorraine-Champagne-Ardenne TV channel support. He also produced in 2010 tribute song to AIDS victims called Je suis moi.
