ATDynamics

ATDynamics, also known as Advanced Transit Dynamics, designs and manufactures fuel-saving technology for the freight transportation industry out of its Silicon Valley, California headquarters. It is recognized for the TrailerTail rear-drag aerodynamics technology, around which the company was founded. ATDynamics also sells other fuel-saving technologies including the ATDynamics Transtex trailer skirts as part of a complete trailer aerodynamic package.

TrailerTail

The TrailerTail device works by streamlining the air as it comes off the back of a semi-trailer, reducing low-pressure suction drag directly behind the trailer. Independent SAE J1321 Type II tests have shown the device to save 6.58 percent fuel at 65 mph. TrailerTail is now part of Navistar's SuperTruck project, which will use $37 million dollars of US Department of Energy grants to build the next generation truck and tractor trailer.
