Association of Fraternity Advisors

The Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) was founded in 1976 to support the professionals involved with advancing fraternity and sorority life as well as promote The Fraternity and sorority experience.

Membership

There are six categories of membership in the AFA. Membership of any type lasts for one year. The privileges and benefits of membership depend on the membership type. General benefits include access the publications, network of over 1,500 professionals, discounts, and resources that the AFA has to offer. An associate membership is available to businesses and other organizations.

Governance

Day-to-day administrative operations of the AFA are administered at the central office near Indianapolis, Indiana. Most other activities are facilitated by the Executive Board with assistance from the Regional Directors.

Strategic Direction

The 2005-2010 strategy of the AFA has been summed up in three Mission, Vision, and Strategic statements.

Mission Statement

AFA enhances its members’ ability to create fraternity and sorority experiences that positively affect students, host institutions, and communities.

Vision Statement

A unified fraternal movement and an increased recognition of the value of the fraternity and sorority experience.

AFA Foundation

Founded in 1992, the Association of Fraternity Advisors Foundation (foundation) is a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of the foundation is to "To secure, invest and distribute the necessary resources to support the educational objectives of the Association of Fraternity Advisors."
