Aspect (dance musician)

Aspect is the MusicAL pseudonym of Dance Music artist Dara McCarthy. Born in 1981 in Dublin, Ireland, his music is synonymous for mixing Techno beats and classical strings. He has written 10 albums according to an interview given with the Irish Times in March 2006, only the latest three of these have been released. Although critically acclaimed they were not a commercial success.

His music has been used with some minor commercial advertisements in Ireland.

A keen supporter of internet file sharing, McCarthy releases free one minute samples of each of his music (immediately after recording it) on his website [www.aspectmusic.org/] although condemns the downloading of free full track versions believing “artists have to get paid, it’s the record companies who have to be bypassed”. He also has a direct ordering system where people can buy normal full length albums at a discounted price minus shipping costs.
