Asif Iftikhar
Asif Iftikhar(1966- ) is a Fellow (Research) at al-Mawrid, Lahore (a foundation for Islamic research and education founded AbOUT two decades ago by Javed Ahmad Ghamidi [1951- ], a well-known Pakistani scholar of Islam). Iftikhar is working on a comparative study of Islamic jura belli(laws of war). He has authored numerous articles on Islam and has taught at some of most well-known institutions of higher learning in Pakistan including Lahore University of Management Sciences where he served as a lecturer for five years. He was also the anchor for "Geo Ghamidi" -a Geo TVtalk show on Ghamidi's views. Iftikhar's booklet [...], [...] and [...] - All in the Name of Allah has been translated into different languages. He has also translated selections from Classical Islamicate poetry (Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Punjabi). He is a graduate of Punjab University, Lahore and McGill University, Montreal.
Iftikhar is a member of the Editorial Board of Renaissance (a monthly Islamic journal from Lahore).
