Ashique Mostafa
Ashique Mostafa () is a Bangladeshi film director and producer. He directed the films Phulkumar (2002), Interiors & Exteriors (2017), Monir (2022) and produced 720 Degrees (2010), Meherjaan (2011), The Last Post Office (2016) and Made in Bangladesh (2019) among others.
Career
He is known for his medium-length 16mm Bengali film Phulkumar, shot in 2000, considered to be a cult classic that inspired many young minds actively participate in filmmaking. While graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York, Ashique made Phulkumar in Bangladesh with the local crew and talents. It was the first film of Jolchobi Movie Factory, a collective platform of a group of young filmmakers such as Nurul Alam Atique, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Akram Khan, Sameer Ahmed, Giasuddin Selim, Animesh Aich among many others.
Ashique co-founded Khona Talkies in 2008 with the vision of using young Bangladeshi talent to produce films in a local terrain with possible foreign co-production and creative tie-ups.
