Artforum Culture Foundation

Artforum Culture Foundation (ACF) is an European private and independent nonprofit organization (NGO) with legal seat in Thessaloniki, [[Greece], and branches in Athens, Cologne, Paris, New York. Major tasks are the independent promotion and exchange of art and culture in Greece and the regions of the Greek Diaspora in the world. The foundation brings contemporary art to a wider audience and establish a dialogue between generations through diffrent cultural activities. The exhibition centre Artforum-Vilka near the harbour was initiated in 1996 with a retrospective by Helmut Newton, who was also there himself.

Aims

Artforum Culture Foundation gets on, primarily, as an international institution. A main target of the foundation is to deliver contributions for cultural authenticity and against cultural uniformity. Main basis of the foundation's philosophy is the value of the humanism and the application for peace, for social cohesion and for the renewal of the culture. With its exhibition program the foundation promotes emerging as well as established artists.

Projects

It is to be got the concern of Artforum Culture Foundation to initiate projects (European Cultural Centre (EEC), Network Project) and to give artists the space, where they can show their artworks and where they can be valued according to their own aesthetics. A special attention lies on the promotion of gifted artists from all disciplines. Artforum Culture Foundation is operating as well as a partner for main cultural activities of public interest by artists, galleries, collectors, local authorities and companies.

Artists

Research on important contemporary artists is a part of the scientific aims of Artforum Culture Foundation. In the field of photography the foundation holds a significant main focus with the artistic estate of Heinz Günter Mebusch (The Mebusch Estate) and the complete work of Vera Isler-Leiner. The foundation gives also support to the work of Joe Brockerhoff, Sheila Elias, Michael (Mike) Jansen, Michalis Manoussakis, Stanislav Marijanovic, Mahmood Mirzaie, Masaaki Noda, Manolis Polymeris, Vangelis Pliaridis, Stefan Runge, Theodoros (Papadimitriou), Panayiotis Tanimanidis, Helmut Tollmann, Heinz Zolper and many more international artists.

Exhibitions

More than 60 art exhibitions with contemporary works of painting, sculptures, photographs and performance-art were realised up to now, mostly in co-operation with Tsatsis-Projects. Almost all exhibitions were documented by catalogues and brochures.
