Armin Mrkanovic
Armin Mrkanovic (born 1983) is an Bosnian-American Light Heavyweight kickboxer and Cruiserweight boxer fighting out of Queens, New York. He is currently negotiating with Bellator Fighting Championships to make his Middleweight mixed martial arts debut.
Kickboxing career
He exclusively fought for the now defunct World Combat League kickboxing promotion for all of his kickboxing career. He fought for the Miami Force with his team managing 2nd place in the WCL 2006-2007 championship.
Mixed Martial Arts career
His MMA career was supposed to begin in coincidentally another team based fight league, this time for the also defunct, but popular, International Fight League. He was supposed to debut against Dante Rivera for his team, the Chicago Red Bears, but pulled out due to an injury and Tim Kennedy replaced him.
3 years later, he was again supposed to make his debut, but this time in Bellator against Jay Silva in the Middleweight Division. It was not to be; he was replaced for unknown reasons.
Boxing career
Armin made his boxing debut in January of 2011, winning by unanimous decision.
In his second fight, he dropped his opponent to the canvas in the very first round but could not continue due to a knee injury.
