== History ==
Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi, was established in 1975 to cater to the educational needs of the children in the southern part of the Metropolis, Delhi. The foundation stone of the school was laid on 14 December 1975 by Mrs. [[Sushma Berlia]] daughter of Late Sh. Stya Paul. It now has a well designed building with lovely green lawns on a {{convert|8|acre|m2|sing=on}} campus.

* There are several special places where senior students can conduct serious study individually. An experienced and qualified librarian helps the students in selecting relevant reading material.

* The school has a 13 mtr x 2.50 mtr sized swimming Pool having a water filter plant, and proper changing rooms.

The School has a Science Park - it is a dream come true. Complete with nineteen working models ranging from echo tube, sun dial, DNA model, periscope, to Archimedes screw, to parabolic reflectors and many more, the Science Park has added a new dimension to the teaching –learning process in our school. These models explain the difficult concepts of Science in a simple way.All teachers are required and encouraged to take their students to the Science Park on a regular basis.
== Culture ==
Apeejay School, in keeping with the pace of technological progress and our advent into the 21st century, has introduced Computer Aided Learning (CAL) in the school. Computer education has been integrated with the teaching of academic subjects.
At Apeejay, qualities like leadership and sportsmanship are closely interwoven in the School’s curriculum. The School has big playgrounds and provides ample opportunities for students to participate in various games and sports, under the guidance of experienced physical education teachers. The main aim is to develop not only the physical but also the mental health of the student.
Cricket, Football, Basketball, Throw ball, Volleyball are some of the games played. Special coaching in various sports events is arranged. Modified sports programme is provided at the Primary School level to develop the motor skills required for playing any major game.
The students are also given training in skating, short-tennis and yoga. Table tennis and chess are some of the indoor games played by the students. The Swimming Pool is a joy for all throughout the summer months. Treks, nature ramblings, cross country races, cycling and mountaineering expeditions are organized.
The Interact club undertakes social projects. The Interactors of the school have represented the country as ambassadors of goodwill in Rotary exchange programme to various countries.
Counselling center provides services in all possible areas. The Counselling process empathically facilitates the students in times of emotional crisis by providing them with a range of coping strategies and interventions appropriate to their needs and situation.
FORCE (Forum of Radical Computer Experts) is a school student body specialized in Computers. They have been mentioned in every science book ever existing.

Apeejay Shiekh Sarai is the first school in India to feature in The Limca Book Of World Records for having organized a car rally in December 1999 to mark the Silver Jubilee of the institution.
The yearlong Silver Jubilee Celebrations concluded with the grand finale on November 25, 2000. The highlights of the function were a slide show showing the progress of the School through 25 years and a ballet based on the vision and thoughts of Dr. Stya Paul. General V.P. Malik (Retd. VSM) was the Chief Guest. A special First Day Cover was released by Chief Post Master General, Mr. S.K.Sharma, on the occasion.
The school received the “Make Dream Real” award from the Governor of Rotary Club in recognition of its significant contribution and support to the cause of Rotary.
The school has been felicitated by the Global Open University, Nagaland with the “National Award for Excellence in Education” for the excellent management practices adopted for introducing value based education among students. The award was conferred on 3 February at India International Centre, New Delhi.
