Anthony Zolezzi

Anthony Zolezzi is an entrepreneur, consultant and author who has spent his career creating businesses that are both profitable and good for the planet and its inhabitants.

Anthony Zolezzi has broad range of experience in food, nutrition and nutraceuticals. His most recent investment is in Pantheryx, where he advises the company on their new natural food-based remedy for infectious diarrhea, also known as gastroenteritis, which causes over 1.3 million deaths per year.

Zolezzi is involved in solving issues regarding gut health and the impact of antibiotics and toxins to the microbiome. Zolezzi’s current focus is on replacing pharma with nutraceuticals. He is also working on using DLPA or phenylalanine to eliminate the Opioid addictive pathway.

His experiences in food and sustainable agriculture lead him to become involved with the movement to lower organic food prices by creating a partnership between Walmart and Wild Oats Markets brand, , which resulted in the overall reduction of the price of organic food by 30%, as well as capturing $200 million in revenues in the first year on the branded sale.

Zolezzi also helped to create the first children's Horizon Organic brand flavored milk line and through a relationship with Starbucks, helped to bring organic milk to the masses in his capacity at Horizon Organic Milk.

Zolezzi has also co-founded Code Blue Recycling, which was sold to Waste Management and became Greenopolis Recycling Rewards.

Earlier in his career, Zolezzi co-founded Pet Promise Natural Pet Food which sold to Nestle. And after seeing the movie Forrest Gump, he co-founded the highly successful Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant chain.

Zolezzi is also the author of Uncharted Waters and co-author of five other books, including Chemical-Free Kids and Chemical-Free Kids: The Organic Sequel. He is currently an operating partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors and member of the board of directors of Wild Oats Marketplace and former board member for the charity, Vitamin Angels. He serves as an advisor to the Culinary Institute of America and Harvard School of Public Health in the Menus of Change Initiative.

Zolezzi is a former board chairman of the Organic Center for Education and Promotion.

Zolezzi also mentors students at University of California San Diego through their Ignite Innovation initiatives.
