Anthony Marlowe (investor)
Anthony Marlowe is an American businessperson. He is the co-founder of TMone, managing member of Iowa City Capital Partners, And Co-owner of the NASCAR racing team BK Racing.
Early life
Marlowe is a Greek-American who grew up in LaGrange, Illinois. His mother is Becky Marlowe McPartlin, a real estate developer and interior designer, and his father, Mike McPartlin, is an attorney. Marlowe also has two brothers. While in high school, Marlowe won the state ice hockey championship with Marist Catholic High School. He attended University of Iowa for his freshman year, however he left college in his first year to take a management job with a Fortune 500 company. He subsequently worked for MCI.
Business career
After working with MCI, Marlowe became the co-founder and president of TMone, a customer relations management firm. Founded in 2003 in Iowa City, the company also provides inside sales and business process outsourcing. The firm was purchased in 2013 by Enhanced Recovery Co (ERC), however it retained its name and remained an independently operating unit in Iowa City. Marlowe is also a co-founder and the managing member of Iowa City Capital Partners, a private investment firm. The firm makes angel investments to businesses for between $25,000 and $1 million. Marlowe was also a pre-IPO investor in Facebook.
NASCAR
Marlowe became a partner in the Swan Racing team during the 2013 offseason, which was expanding to field two drivers (Parker Kligerman and Cole Whitt) for the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing season. Marlowe originally owned 20% of the team, and was the listed owner of Whitt's No. 26 team. In May, financial trouble led Marlowe to buy out the No. 26 car and move the team and Whitt to BK Racing through a merger. BK Racing then expanded from two cars to three cars.
Recognition
In 2007 Marlowe was named one of Inc. 5000's CEO's under 30, after his company grew by around 360% over three years.
