Anna Maris Igpit
Maris Igpit (born Anna Maris Arcay Igpit on April 7, 1987) is a Philippine beauty queen, model, and TV personality. Igpit was crowned Bb. Pilipinas-World at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City on March 4, 2006 and represented the Philippines in the Miss World 2006 pageant in Warsaw, Poland.
Biography
Igpit was born on the island of Panglao and grew up in Cebu City, where she attended St. Theresa's College Cebu for her elementary and secondary education. During this time, a local beautician introduced Igpit to a former town mayor who was looking for a girl to represent his hometown in the Miss Bohol Sandugo pageant. She entered the pageant, but lost. She then joined Miss Bohol Sandugo 2003 as Miss Alona Tropical, but finished as first runner-up. In 2006, she won the Bb. Pilipinas-World pageant.
Igpit is considered as the first Boholana who won a national beauty pageant.
She is in her second year studying for her bachelor’s degree in tourism and hopes one day to own her own travel agency. As of 2008, she hosts the Istayl Nato program on GMA 7 Cebu.
