Angela Mostovoy
Angela Mostovoy (Анжела Мостового) and Vadim Mostovoy (Вадим Мостовой) were professional International 10-dance champions.
In 1989, they became Ukainian 10-Dance Champions and represented Ukraine in the World 10 Dance Championships. In 1999, they became Canadian 10-Dance representatives. Read on to find out their contribution to the Canadian Ballroom dance and Dancesport.
International Ballroom 10-dance is the five International Standard (dance)s plus the five International Latin dances.
The Early Years
Angela and Vadim started to dance when they were eight years old. They became dance partners when Angela was thirteen and Vadim was sixteen. After dancing as partners for five years, they got married. In 1989 they won the Ukrainian 10-Dance Championships and became the Ukrainian representatives to the World 10 Dance Championships.
Angela and Vadim competed amateur 10-Dance in the Italian open 1995, Krakow 10-Dance cup 1995, Gradec Kralove 1994, Russian open 1994 and 1995, were runners up in the Romanian open in Oradea 1994 and participated in many more important competitions in Europe. They ran three Dance studios in Ukrain before Angela and Vadim, who was then four months pregnant, immigrated to Canada in 1996.
Life in Canada
With a baby to raise and had to ease into living in Canada, the couples also worked hard to establish in a short period of time, as the Canadian representatives to the World Professional Championships. To perfect their skills in dancing, Vadim and Angela traveled to Italy, Germany and England to learn from top coaches. After years of competition, they continue to dance in show performances. Their technique and passion inspired a lot of folks to come to learn dancing, some of them went further as to compete and won numerous awards and scholarships.
Starting from 2004 they are Full Members of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA http://www.cdta.info/ballroom.html), Adjudicators of smooth, rhythm, Latin and standard. Moreover, they are international adjudicators, who judge dance competitions world wide. (http://www.idsf.net/index.tpl?style=adjudicators).

Most Recent Achievements
- Six time Canadian representatives to the world championships held in Holland, France, Germany, Tokyo and Hong-Kong.
(During this 6 year time Canada only ever had two 10-Dance couples. Every country gets to have two couples represent them. Therefore there was no one to compete against inorder to respresent Canada.)
- Canadian representatives in the World Professional Championship held in Black pool England in 2002
- 2nd place in the Asian-Pacific Dance Sport Championship and Latin American Division 2002
- Grand Finalists representing Canada, Japan Universal Cup, Standard and Latin
- Ohio Star Ball 10 dance Champions, 2001
- Can-Am Dance Sport Rising Star Standard Champions 2001
- Rising star Standard Champions in Florida State Dancesport Championship, 2002
- Runners up in North American 10-Dance Championship 2001, held in Cherry Hill
