Angela Ardolino

Angela Ardolino (born in Miami) is the founder of the Miami Childrens Theater, editorial director and founder of Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, and a parenting, family and lifestyle expert correspondent on WFTS-TV ABC Action news, and other media outlets.

Biography

Angela grew up in Miami, Florida, Florida. Her father was an electronic engineer from New Haven, Connecticut and her mother was from Dundas, Virginia. She has two sisters. Angela’s mother worked for Informed Families where she was contracted to teach parenting and self-esteem courses to parents. Angela was certified by Informed Families and taught her first class when she was 18, working with the children while her mother worked with the parents. Angela graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Broadcast Television.

Career

In 1996, Angela founded the Miami Childrens Theater (MCT), a performing arts production company founded with the purpose of introducing love and joy of the performing arts to children and young adults. MCT uses the performing arts to instruct, console, entertain, and inspire the lives of young actors and audiences. MCT teaches children ages 3–19 theater, magic, music, video production, the visual arts, creative writing, clowning and juggling. Miami Childrens Theater was chosen to be one of the first children's theater in the Southeastern United States to stage Les Misérables, School Edition. Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami both issued the theater proclamations, making April 27 Miami Childrens Theater Day. In 2011, Lauren Nedelman, one of Angela's former students, joined the National tour of Fiddler on the Roof.

In 1996 Angela also founded Creative Camps The Ultimate Summer Camp for the performing arts for kids ages 5 to 12. Creative Camps is the oldest running and most established summer theater camp in South Florida.

In 2006, Angela relocated to Tampa, Florida and founded Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, a family resource guide serving Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida. With Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, Angela partners and contributes to media segments on radio and television networks including NBC, WTSP-TV CBS, Studio 10, and 10 Connect.

In 2010, Angela began as a correspondent on WFTS-TV ABC Action News for Parents in Action offering parenting tips and news of family activities and events.

Angela is a member and serves on the executive board of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the Glazer Children's Museum, and Voices for Children. She is also a member of Florida Fashionistas and Junior League of Tampa.
