Andrew L. Murray

Andy Murray (born 6 March 1963) is the founder and Executive Chair of the University of Arkansas - Sam M. Walton College of Business Customer Centric Leadership Initiative. He previously founded and held executive positions at Saatchi & Saatchi X and Mercury 11. He also held many high-profile positions at Walmart, Procter & Gamble, and ASDA.
Early life
Andy Murray was born on March 6, 1963, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Ohio Institute of Technology in 1984.
Saatchi and Saatchi X
In 1997, Murray founded ThompsonMurray, which was bought by Saatchi and Saatchi in 2004. The company was then renamed Saatchi and Saatchi X, and Andy became the founder and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi X. Saatchi & Saatchi X went on to work with blue-chip clients including Procter & Gamble, Walmart, Coca-Cola, Novartis, and many others.
Mercury 11
In 2012, Murray founded Mercury 11 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He mentored several upcoming entrepreneurs during this time. Murray navigated the sale of the company to Project Worldwide prior to joining Walmart in 2013.
Walmart
In 2013, Andy Murray left Mercury 11 and joined Walmart. He was the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Creative and Marketing Operations, from 2013 to 2015. He was responsible for leading Walmart's advertising, brand, and store experience as part of the U.S. Marketing division.
ASDA
In 2016, Murray transitioned from Walmart to ASDA, based in the United Kingdom. Murray was the Chief Customer Officer and responsible for developing and implementing a customer-centered strategy across merchandising, retail, marketing, and colleagues.
