Andrea Matthies

Andrea Valentina Matthies Bornhorst (born August 6, 1987 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan model and beauty queen. She started in the modeling business at the age of 15 posing for well-known photographer Erick Peley. She then worked for the world-famous modeling agency Wilhelmina and a few other agencies in Europe and Latin America. At the same age she appeared on the cover of i-D in the United Kingdom. She participated in the 2007 EDition of the Miss Venezuela pageant. Matthies, representing the state of Sucre became a big favorite. She finished in the top 10 semi-finalists and won the award of 'Colgate's Best Smile'. Matthies is now a rising fashion model in Venezuela.

She represented her country in the Miss Continente Americano 2008 pageant in Guayaquil (Ecuador) on September 6, and placed in the 6 finalists.
