André: Heart of the Giant

André: Heart of the Giant is a movie based on the life and struggles of professional wrestler André the Giant, and will also feature actors portraying many legendary wrestlers as well. This film is the second film based on or inspired by the life of André the Giant. The other one being My Giant, a dramedy starring real-life friend of André the Giant, Billy Crystal.

Production

7'6" actor Matthew McGrory was originally cast as André, and even filmed a few scenes, but he died on August 9, 2005. The few scenes that he shot were saved and will be featured during the credit sequence as a tribute to him.

This movie has been panned by both fans and critics alike as seen here http://forum.dvdtalk.com/movie-talk/540987-andre-heart-giant-movie-trailer-not-believed.html and is considered by many to be a comedy rather then a serious attempt at a biography of one of wrestling's most loved performers.

Plot

André Roussimoff lived on a farm in Grenoble, France as a child. He struggled with his size his entire life. This movie follows him through his childhood and his wrestling days.
