AMP - Associated Media Professionals
AMP is a multinational media consultant/strategist, with a strict non-profit profile. The organization has representation in six countries on three continents. The Head Office is situated in Gothenburg, Sweden. An African Office is located to Nairobi, in Kenya. AMP has a well founded knowledge of African politics and culture. AMP members are engaged in educational efforts on both practical and strategic levels in Mali, Senegal, Somalia, Kenya and Mozambique. Co-operation partners are, among others, other international development organisations (UNAFRIK, NDI, UNAIDS, UNESCO) as well as government based developed authorities (SIDA, Forum Syd, NORAD, CIDA)
The AMP organization comprises journalists, film makers, graphic designers, animators and system developers. It develops teaching aid on commission. It tailors educational programs, CREATES new innovative teaching methods and it shapes educative and educational strategies for in-service education, always with elaborate audiovisual study kits. AMP is also a frequent lecturer at European schools and universities and many European students have met them on tour with three lecture packages based on the organization’s running African projects. AMP has wide experience of global media development, from global media policy to inter-corporative communication strategies. In co-operation with a number of international companies and organizations AMP promotes The Kidogo Concept, a modular strategy for building an effective media and information distribution in a region or a country and a paradigmatic shift in development thinking.
AMP holds the chair of The Kidogo Development Group. The group will present the full and detailed Kidogo Concept to the African Union in the beginning of 2008, as an exhortation and appeal for a new thinking among technicians, government officials and development organisations around the world.
