American Idiot Films
American Idiot Films is an independent motion picture company operated and owned by Justin Lane. It was formerly used as Lane's registered label through the University of Sydney to produce and release music videos and horror films. Additionally Lane's earlier projects self-produced between 2004-2006 have been added to the company's property in terms of current and future distribution. In 2007 a New York branch was established in June as well as an Amsterdam branch in October. Registration in those countries is currently being processed.
All projects released by American Idiot Films prior to December 15, 2007, remain the property of the production company. American Idiot also retains a license to use the label for distribution of the film library it controls. American Idiot's most notable well-known movies include Spring Cove (2006-2007) and Dollar (2006).

The company eventually transferred its output and global position when Lane moved to Australia in February 2006.
Sydney, Australia (2006 - 2007)
American Idiot Films became a fully registered motion picture company in March of 2006 when an exclusive one-year agreement with the University of Sydney was established. Insured for up to $11 million dollars, the company would have permission to film and produce local Australian media in New South Wales until March of 2007. Two short films were produced, the second named Spring Cove. A teen horror loosely based on Manly Quarantine Station, Spring Cove become a local success and was premiered at Chauvel Cinema on December 13 during the Super Happy Terrific Film Festival '06. A joint agreement was made as well with Knoble Maverick Studios to help produce the short film 'Q & A'.

After Lane left Australia in March he moved the headquarters to nearby Pymble, a suburb of Sydney. The company is still currently under operation by producer Sascha White.
Wellington, New Zealand (2007)
The company enjoyed a brief visit in Wellington between March and May. Although not able to produce any formal projects, film consulting was used in the efforts for national television shows with the companies Blue Bicycle Flicks and Top Shelf Productions.

New York, United States (2007)
American Idiot was expanded to meet the growing demand for production work in New York City in June 2007. Projects included short documentaries as well as Wedding events held in Manhattan.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2007)
From October 12 - November 8, 2007 Lane decided to spend time in Europe and moved to Amsterdam as a film consultant. Looking for ways to expand into the market, Lane got involved with a handful of companies including Nigel Gordon Films,
A European branch has been set up just outside the city in Haarlem, North Holland. The current operating producer is Barry Flaherty.
