Artistic style

Chabannes' experiences collaborating with architects designing the French cultural center of Riga, Latvia led her to familiarize herself with one of her initial mediums: the rapidograph and paper. The art of Chabannes is characterized by delicate lines, complimented by colored graphic elements defined by a white ground. Biomorphic shapes, tangled lines, and topographic elements coupled with historical myths and fantastical references frequently feature. Chabannes' works often reflect societal fears and dreams. A solo exhibition in 2006, The Bestiary of Clothilde (Luxe Gallery) highlighted these sentiments.
