Alvin Bamburg is an outdoorsman from Shreveport, Louisiana. In 2021, he drove 600 miles to Liberal, Kansas to surprise 4-year-old twin girls with a special Christmas gift, after he found their red balloon wrapped with a yellow-color wishlist.

Background

One day when Alvin Bamburg was out hunting, few days before Christmas in 2022, he spotted a red-star shaped balloon in a tree. It was a Christmas wishlist from four-year-old twin girls, named Luna and Gianella Gonzalez, located 600 miles away, in Liberal Kansas. The list included a candy, frozen doll, little pony, and a puppy.

Bamburg posted about it on Facebook, hoping he could find the person’s address. Within 24-hours, after multiple reshares by his friends, family, and followers, Bamburg got connected with the mother of the twins, found the address, and shipped all items to the family except the puppy. People who followed his story donated him enough so that Bamburg could ship four shipment boxes with items marked in the 4-year-old’s wishlist.

Aftermath

In 2021, Bamburg travelled all the way to Del City, Oklahoma, to meet halfway with the Gonzalez daughters who were visiting their extended family at the time. He came along with a special surprise to complete their Christmas wishlist: a dachshund puppy. The girls eventually named the puppy ‘Max.’
