Alusine Bangura

Alusine Bangura (born 3 March 1991) is a Sierra Leonean footballer forward who last played for IFK Maryland in 2016. Previously, he has targeted a call-up to the Sierra Leone national football team.

Career

Playing for Mighty Blackpool F.C. in his native Sierra Leone, Bangura sealed a move to W Connection of the TT Pro League after trialing in 2009 on the recommendation of former W Connection player Charlie Wright. They placed him in their reserve squad, sometimes calling him up to line up for the first team. Less than a month after his transfer there, Bangura recorded a hat-trick in an 8-0 beating of Police FC in the domestic league. Meanwhile, the Sierra Leonean was incriminated with sexually assaulting a teenager and was denied bail. In addition, the judge was perturbed by the fact that his passport never showed that he had an extension to stay in Trinidad and Tobago. Two weeks later, Bangura was released on charge after the witness refused to make a deposition or testify in court and was never officially vindicated of his crime.

Over the course of 2010, the footballer trained with D.C. United Academy before entering the Maryland International Soccer Academy; he also visited Freetown during that year, engaging in a friendly fronting F.C. Johansen of the Sierra Leone National Premier League.

Back in January 2016, Bangura joined IFK Maryland of the American Soccer League, donning the number 9 and scoring two goals.
