Music Career as Jade Elektra
King began recording in 1996, releasing his first single Why Are You Gaggin'? (performed as Jade Elektra) in 1997 on Progressive High Records . Why Are You Gaggin'? gained popularity as a [...] track, a track with aggressive content or tone where the vocalist would "throw shade" (a vogue term for taunting or berating one's competitor). King (as Elektra) went on to sign with UK record label Triple X Records in 2000 and record their next single, [...] You Look Fierce for their debut album Proud Mary. However, due to multiple complications (including the single leaking onto then-popular filesharing service Napster and the eventual shuttering of Triple X Records), Proud Mary remained unreleased and became an "underground sensation", eventually seeing release on King's Label 2nd Level Records in 2001. In 2004, King (as Elektra), along with production duo Midnight Society, released the single How Do I Look? on Pure Music Productions. Remixes of [...] You Look Fierce were released in 2008 on Filthy [...] Records (the Scott Harris mix was later featured on a 2010 compilation put out by label called Filthy [...] Presents Dirty Rotten Filth). In late 2011, King released [...] You Look Remixed on 2nd Level Records, a full-length release featuring both unreleased and previously released singles performed by Jade Elektra, as well as remixes by Vjuan Allure, Ken Terry, and Josh Riptide.
Film Career
King had roles in films To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar and Pictures of Baby Jane Doe.
