Ali Yasir

Ali Yasir (born on December 3, 1976) in a literary family of Gujranwala, Pakistan. His grand father Ameer Ali was a renowned poet of Punjabi. He started poetry at an early age of 16 years, and joined major literary forums of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in 1992, where he attracted the attention of prominent poets, writers and critics with his unique style. He writes in Urdu, Punjabi and also translates from Urdu to English and English to Urdu. Currently residing in Islamabad he is an officer of Pakistan Academy Of Letters where he is serving Literature and Languages of Pakistan by profession. He has done his masters in Urdu literature from Punjab University. Also he is dowing Ph.D. in Urdu from Allamma Iqbal Open University. He is young Poet of Urdu and Punjabi, His first collection of Urdu ghazals " iraada" was published in 2007. His book is earning him a lot of respect in literary circle of the Urdu poetry. He has edited and compiled Writers Director containing the informations AbOUT living writers and poets. He is a good prose writer and critic too. He is respected and reputed in literary pursuits.
